Submit Abstract
The abstract submission will be divided into 3 categories:
A. Original Article
B. Systematic Review, Meta-analysis, and Evidence-based Case Report (EBCR)
C. Case Report
1) STRUCTURE
a. Title: Maximum of 120 characters (including space).
b. Author: The number of authors is not limited.
c. Contents
I. Original article, systematic review, meta-analysis, and EBCR consist ofnbackground, objective, method, result, discussion, conclusion, and references.
ii. Case report consists of background, case illustration, discussion, conclusion, and references.
d. Word count: Maximum of 250 words (for the whole abstract).
e. Language: English
2) SUBMISSION GUIDELINE
? Abstract submission is open online until 30 March 2024 (GMT +8)
? The AOTA Bali 2024 accepts Instruction Free Paper, E-poster and Video submission.
? All abstracts must be submitted in English exclusively via the online abstract submission system. Submissions by post, email, fax or any other means will NOT be accepted.
? AUTHORS – FIRST (PRESENTING) AUTHOR – The first author will be the presenting author. The first (presenting) author is expected to register and pay the full registration fee,? attend the Congress and make the presentation.
? Please provide an accurate email address and handphone number for the first (presenting) author. Abstract submission results and abstract-related correspondence will be sent by email to the first author.
? Authors can submit a maximum of 5 abstracts and they can serve as the first author of 3 submitted abstracts at most. Among the 3 abstracts, they can present a maximum of 2? ? ?abstracts that are of the same presentation type.
? CO-AUTHOR(S) – A maximum of five co-authors are allowed for each abstract. Type in the names and affiliations as you would like them to appear in any publications. Please give the names in full for each of the co-authors. Initials are only accepted for middle names if any.
? The ABSTRACT TITLE must be concise. Avoid using abbreviations in the title.
? Abstract content (excluding title, authors, highest degrees and institutions) should include the following headings: INTRODUCTION, OBJECTIVES, METHODS, RESULTS and CONCLUSION. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. Do not include graphs, tables, images or references in the abstract.
? Please define each abbreviation the first time it is used in the abstract by placing what it stands for in parentheses.
? It is the author’s responsibility to submit an abstract with correct spelling and grammar. The Selection Committee, however, reserves the right to edit the abstract if it has significant spelling and grammatical mistakes.
? All successfully submitted abstracts will be acknowledged with an electronic receipt with an abstract reference number, which should be quoted in all future correspondence. If you do not receive an acknowledgment within 48 hours after submission, please contact the Congress Secretariat at: freepaper@aotabali2024.com
? The Selection Committee strongly recommends that authors submit their abstracts as early as possible to avoid a last-minute rush and system congestion. When the abstract is submitted, it can still be revised until 30 March 2024. Kindly note that only the latest version will be reviewed.
? Late submissions will NOT be considered.
? Submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Selection Committee. The review process is confidential and the decision is final.
? Authors will be notified of the abstract selection results no later than 1 April 2024
? Authors may be given the option to change the format of their presentation as a condition for acceptance.
? The 14th AOTA Congress 2024 holds the copyright to all the materials presented at the Congress and may reproduce the materials in any form for distribution.
Welcoming Message (14th AOTA Congress)
On behalf of the Asia and Oceania Thyroid Association, it is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to the upcoming 14th AOTA Congress to be held at Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, Bali from 22nd to 25th of May 2024. ?The congress is the scientific meeting of AOTA which has been held every two to four years and its organization is rotated among the country society members of AOTA. The congress will feature the latest advances in thyroidology as well as an update on the day-to-day practice of clinical thyroidology by renowned experts from the region.?
We would like to express our sincere respect to all past presidents, council members of AOTA, and committee members of the 14th?AOTA Congress. ?Since it was established in 1975, AOTA has grown rapidly and now it is one of the leading medical societies in Asia. ?AOTA has dedicated itself to improving domestic and regional research and treatment of thyroid disorders.? Since it held 1st?congress in Singapore on January 28-31, 1978, subsequent congresses were held in Tokyo of Japan (1982), Bangkok of Thailand (1986), Seoul of Korea (1989), Leura of Australia (1993), Osaka of Japan (1997), Singapore (2003), Manila of Philippines (2007), Nagoya of Japan (2009), Bali of Indonesia (2012), and Kochi of India (2014), Busan of Korea (2017) and Sydney of Australia (2019).
During the last 5 years, we have not been able to have a face-to-face meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.? It has greatly impacted our scientific activities in our region.? So, I am very excited to expect that we could meet our old friends and young scientists again at this Congress.
At this congress, a number of thyroid experts from different Asian countries will be brought together to exchange their scientific knowledge and build strong networks with each other. ?Also, this congress is also about getting our young trainees and scientists together, to learn and to present their work.
I extend my sincere gratitude to Professor Tjokorda Gde Dalem Pemayun for hosting the 14th?AOTA congress, to local organizing committee members, and to program organizing committee members for their hard work and efforts for making a successful AOTA 2024.? All of the AOTA members would like to celebrate the launching of the Indonesian Thyroid Association (InaTA) which was done a few years ago, and hope prosperity of InaTA as the standing society for Indonesian Thyroidologists.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Bali in the hope that you will be able to enjoy the fantastic days of May in Bali, Indonesia !!
